Giddiness and Fainting
When arrhythmias last long enough to affect the normal functions of the heart, more serious symptoms may develop, such as fatigue or weakness, dizziness or lightheadedness, fainting or near-fainting spells, rapid heartbeat or pounding in the chest, shortness of breath and anxiety, chest pain or pressure. In extreme cases, collapse and sudden cardiac arrest can occur.
Your doctor may ask about various symptoms and your medical history when he is evaluating your giddiness and fainting complaint. Investigations that may be done include ECG, Treadmill stress testing, Ambulatory ECG monitoring (Holter), echocardiogram (heart scan).
Consult Dr Ang to discuss an appropriate treatment plan for your heart condition.
