Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE)
ECHO is also known as a heart scan which is a painless, diagnostic procedure that uses ultrasound waves to see the heart.
During an ECHO, ultrasound waves are sent from a probe (transducer) placed on a chest wall. These high-frequency sound waves are processed by a computer to form moving images of the heart. The test is performed by a medical technologist and will be reviewed later by our cardiologist.
